Some items cannot be accepted for domestic or international movement. DVC may inspect packages before dispatch to protect people, equipment and other shipments.

Food and perishables

  • Non-vegetarian food, including non-vegetarian pickles
  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Raw rice and rice flours
  • Liquids and semi-liquids
  • Food or beverages requiring refrigeration or environmental controls

Hazardous materials

  • Firearms, firearm parts and ammunition
  • Radioactive material
  • Flammable or explosive chemicals and products
  • Dry ice, including dry ice used for packaging
  • IATA-restricted items and dangerous goods

Controlled or biological material

  • Drugs and narcotics
  • Living organisms
  • Bacteria, virus samples and other biological material
  • Corpses, cremated remains or disinterred remains

Money and valuables

  • Coins, cash currency and paper money
  • Negotiable instruments
  • Precious and semi-precious items

Other restricted items

  • Pornography
  • Lottery tickets or gambling devices where prohibited by law
  • Items likely to damage or delay equipment, personnel or other shipments
  • Items requiring a carrier licence that has not been arranged

Medicines

  • Ayurvedic, homeopathic and non-prescription medicines may be restricted
  • Contact DVC before booking any medicine or health-related product
